Welcome to A-W-E-A-R-E,
We wanted this Space to be informative and transparent // to encourage a reflection about what is going on in Sustainability & Sustainable Fashion today and what can be done to be part of the movement. We started our journey wanting to know more about how to become more sustainable in our clothing project and we found out that there are many ways to do so, among which some not so widely known.
We call it a ‘journey’ because there is no perfect sustainable solution as of today for the fashion industry (just like in so many other industries) but there are surely better ways than the ones commonly used up to now.
So why no more companies are taking the leap? Or just doing so little? Is it too expensive or too difficult to put into practice? Well… if small businesses with small means can do something, surely big groups with large infrastructures and financial power could do even more…, right?
Hence our goal to start a dialogue, to encourage our reader to ask questions, to think about how things are done and how they could be improved. Again, there are no perfect answers, just a wide range of better options that can be easily implemented at different stages and scales. The only important thing is to take a step back, observe, reflect and avoid being fooled by meaningless shortcuts from the 'Greenwashing' trend.
